“A local analyst who wanted to remain anonymous told Global Times’ reporter in an interview that the migration court’s verdict clearly had a tendency to please the United States, because the American government is trying to find countries to stay for Guantanamo suspects. Therefore, by permitting Adil Hakimjan to stay, Sweden undoubtedly did something America hoped for. The analyst also said that the East Turkestan Islamic Movement to which Hakimjan belonged was listed for sanctions as a terrorist organization by the UN security council. Sweden still wanted to make America happy by its decision, but the analyst believes that in addition to cause Chinese dissatisfaction, it will also set a dangerous precedence for terrorists’ living space in the international society.“
